Tunisia seeks to double auto component exports to $4.7b by 2027

Tunisia ranks second in Africa in the export of auto parts and components, with about 7.5 billion dinars, after Morocco


Tunisia expects to nearly double its auto industry exports to 13.5 billion dinars (Dh17.2 billion) by 2027 and to create 150,000 new jobs driven by plans to attract major investments, the industry ministry said.

About 280 auto industry firms in the North African country now provide 90,000 jobs. Naila Nouira, the Industry, Mines and Energy minister, said: “Tunisia has the potential to become a leader in the automotive components industry”.

Tunisia ranks second in Africa in the export of auto parts and components, with about 7.5 billion dinars, after Morocco.

The minister added that the goal will be driven by plans to attract major global investments and partnerships between the public and private sectors.
