Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended a signing ceremony for a groundbreaking agreement between Mansour Group and China’s SAIC Motor. The agreement involves the establishment of a US$135 million automotive manufacturing plant in Egypt. This plant will produce MG cars locally and will be located in New October City.
New Factory Details
The factory is expected to cover 126,000 square meters in the industrial zone of New October City. This project will greatly benefit Egypt’s automotive sector by increasing local production capacity and supporting the country’s strategy to localize vehicle manufacturing.

Prime Minister Madbouly praised the initiative, highlighting the job creation, technological transfer, and increased local content of vehicles that the new factory will bring. Project Details
Under the agreement, production is set to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with an initial output of 50,000 units annually. The goal is to scale up to 100,000 units in phase two of the project. The factory will focus on exceeding 45% local content to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen the domestic automotive supply chain.
